📖 QPS Literacy Hub — Practice Checks 📗 Behind the QPS
A Check is the 10-question quiz at the end of a stop or level. Two Checks at 80% or better = a stop or level passed: the student moves on by themselves. Finished — test them lists what each student passed that you still need to test: ✓ Tested clears it, ↩ Back sends them back to it.
🧪 The Lab 📘 Behind the LAB
One row per student. Their strands are stacked in the order they do them; each square is a lesson: ✓ = passed. Click a lesson or a strand to read what it teaches.
How to read this page
- ✓ passed · 2 tried, not passed yet · ! stuck: 3 or more tries, not passed · 4 in the middle of it · 5 not tried yet. Point at a square for its name and best score.
- Strands are stacked in the order the Lab gives them (1st, 2nd …). Two strands marked "takes turns" (⇄) go back and forth: a math lesson, then a reading lesson, then math again — so a kid can have lesson 1 done in one and be on lesson 1 of the other.
- To pass: adding, subtracting and multiplying facts 90%. Place value, rounding, Big Numbers and reading 75% (8 of 10 · 15 of 20 on a Check · reading 6 of 8 points, where a Part A + Part B question is worth 2).
- "Tested out" = all 5 Show-what-you-know questions right, so the lesson was skipped.
- 🔁 Math: the same wrong answer as an earlier miss. Reading: the same KIND of mistake on a new story (for example "true but not proof"). "Most common" = the kind they make most.
- 📋 Still on their list = facts and questions they missed (in the Lab and on the fact sites) that they have not yet gotten right twice in the Lab. Click it to see them.
- 📖 QPS = their QPS stop now, the same as the QPS page (two Checks at 80% move them on). 🔔 = a stop waiting for your test.
- On a plan = they have a row in the lab-seed tab.
✨ After the QPS Open the site
Phonics practice after a QPS stop: tricky words, the sound, blending, beat the voice, a story read 3 times, 3 questions and a spelled sentence. A kid with a lesson from you sees only that lesson until it is done; after that they can re-read the stories of lessons you gave them.
